Carol Says:Battle of the Sexes

We actually went to a movie that is currently playing in the local theaters. Overall it is a good movie. Steve Carell does a great job.

I remember when this all took place and it was nice to look back in time. Plus, I learned a few things that I didn’t know then … Or else time has made me forget. I won’t go into it you will not enjoy learning these surprises.

For those of you who do not know, this is about Billie Jean King standing up for equal pay for women in the tennis tournament world. Then Bobby Riggs came into the picture and wanted a tennis match between him and the top female tennis player. He wanted to prove that men were superior.

Well, the movie is very good, however at one point I wasn’t sure if they were trying to tell more about Billie Jean and her relationship with Marilyn , or the battle of the sexes. at certain points I think they lost track of their main purpose of the movie.

At the end of the movie they give a little summary of what happened to each person. I was disappointed that they did not point out that Marilyn sued Billie Jean in a palimony suit . Which was more along the line of blackmail , per the judge.

Some of the scenes went on longer than needed. I was thinking “okay folks, we got the point, let’s go to the next thing” … That aside, I would recommend the movie . It’s not the best movie, but it is a good movie . I feel that Steve Carell definitely made the movie a better movie.
