Scary News 2/2/18

Los Angeles – California Democratic Party Chair Eric C. Bauman released the following statement in reaction to the release of the Nunes Memo attacking the FBI:

“Trump’s decision to release the Nunes Memo is a page right out of the tinpot dictator handbook. This is an open declaration of war on the FBI and the rule of law. Nunes and Trump are lashing out like guilty men who know investigators are inching closer and closer to exposing their crimes. Devin Nunes must be held to account for his dangerous smear campaign against the FBI. We echo the calls for him to be replaced on the Intelligence Committee. Democrats must be ready to resist even worse actions by Trump to subvert and obstruct justice.”

AND

“That’s it?” former FBI chief James Comey tweeted Friday afternoon following the release of a GOP-authored memo accusing the FBI and DOJ of abusing their surveillance powers. “Dishonest and misleading memo wrecked the House intel committee, destroyed trust with Intelligence Community, damaged relationship with FISA court, and inexcusably exposed classified investigation of an American citizen. For what? DOJ & FBI must keep doing their jobs,” he added. The memo was released at President Trump’s behest, despite objections and concerns from both the FBI and DOJ over inaccuracies and potential risk it could have posed to national security. Comey was infamously fired by President Trump early last year amid a probe into alleged Russian collusion with Trump campaign officials.

  1. We need to impeach Trump now! How many times does he have to be accused, how many crimes has he committed against the Constitution!!!!
He is the 21st century version of Hitler, and I am scared for our country!

  2. In the interest of fairness and balance, here is another view of what the release of the Nunez Memo represents.

    From the DB Daily Update:

*-Top officials DOJ and FBI in the Obama Administration clearly and intentionally conspired to deprive a major party’s presidential nominee and his campaign personnel of their Constitutional rights during the 2016 presidential campaign and in the months afterwards.

*-Those same officials knowingly and intentionally misled the FISA Court in an effort to abuse the FISA process to fix a Presidential election, and then to attempt to nullify the results of that election once their original objective failed.

*-We know that, once the original FISA warrant had been obtained, some of these top DOJ and FBI officials went back to the FISA court not once, not twice, but THREE more times, and on none of those occasions did they inform the FISA judge that the fake Trump dossier was in fact a phony political document that had been paid for by the DNC and the Hillary Clinton campaign.

*-We know that some of those same officials met and coordinated with the Fusion GPS firm on a regular basis while it was in the process of compiling the fake Trump dossier, which was compiled largely based on false allegations provided to a former British MI-6 agent by Russian agents. We know that this was done mainly by Bruce Ohr – who has since been demoted not once, but twice, and still is obligated to testify in February before the House Intelligence Committee – and that his wife, Nellie Ohr was a Fusion GPS employee throughout much of the 2016 presidential campaign.

*-We now know that the above actions are what former deep state FBI Director James Comey considers to be those people just doing their jobs because, shortly after the memo went public, Comey embarrassed himself once more by tweeting “That’s it? Dishonest and misleading memo wrecked the House intel committee, destroyed trust with Intelligence Community, damaged relationship with FISA court, and inexcusably exposed classified investigation of an American citizen. For what? DOJ & FBI must keep doing their jobs.” No wonder this clown is out of work and potentially facing time in prison.

      • Re: “Truthiness”.

Er…as the giant Fizzik once said in the Princess Bride: “…I’m not sure that word means what you think it means…”

        From the Wiki:

“…Truthiness is the belief or assertion that a particular statement is true based on the intuition or perceptions of some individual or individuals, without regard to evidence, logic, intellectual examination, or facts. Truthiness can range from ignorant assertions of falsehoods to deliberate duplicity or propaganda intended to sway opinions…American television comedian Stephen Colbert coined the term truthiness in this meaning as the subject of a segment called “The Wørd” during the pilot episode of his political satire program The Colbert Report on October 17, 2005. By using this as part of his routine, Colbert satirized the misuse of appeal to emotion and “gut feeling” as a rhetorical device in contemporaneous socio-political discourse…”

Like the great man once said, “…those who complain about people getting their information from Fox News, usually get theirs from Comedy Central…”

  3. Liz, I know you are a devout democrat who hates the ground our President walks on. But you really should tune into the Fox and NPR new broadcast too and get a well rounded report of who says what in Washington. I would never expect you to believe any republican could tell the truth but I think you would be surprised how different the news is if you were to listen to more than just CNN. And you might be less likely to suffer from high blood pressure at such a young age. OH, have I told you lately that I love you? Your whackiness is truly charming. 🙂

    • You know Don, some of my best friends are Republicans… NPR is one of my go to news sources, but Fox…. I’ll try.. but it just is so out to lunch on reality… and you are so right about me being charming… love you too…
