8/29/12 Camptonville– Camptonville Prepared! is a group of residents who banded together in 2010  to become better prepared to handle natural disasters like big winter storms and wildfires.
Our mission is to help the community in case of a natural disaster and provide residents with knowledge, information, and resources regarding emergency preparedness in the Camptonville area.
Since 2010, Camptonville Prepared! has achieved the following: two (2) facilities are now approved Red Cross Evacuation Shelters; six (6) residents have completed Red Cross Shelter Operations training; joined the community’s automated phone notification system; obtained a Red Cross Disaster Trailer, fully stocked, is now located in the community. We are now developing a “pocket size” Emergency Phone Contact list. Residents are signing up for the automated phone system so they’ll receive emergency information via phone/computer, and we are developing neighborhood leaders to assist with communications when an emergency occurs.
On Saturday, September 15,  we are holding a free Electronic Waste Drive-Thru Drop-Off Fundraiser to help Camptonville Prepared! and the environment. The e-waste drive will be located at 14620 Marysville Road (Rebel Ridge Market Field) in Camptonville and will collect your e-waste between 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Proceeds from this E-Waste Fundraiser will support Camptonville Prepared! and allow us to purchase additional emergency preparedness materials and rescue equipment for cats and dogs that can be carried on all Camptonville Volunteer Fire Department vehicles
For more information please call Judy 288-1228 or Cathy 288-9355. Check out the community website  to see a complete list of what is and what is not acceptable on September.15th.
