Frog in a Pot Letter 1/16/13

To be a strong supporter of the 2nd amendment does not make a person a “gun nut”. Some just happen to agree with our founding fathers that with the elimination of American gun rights that the elimination of all other rights will soon follow. History proves this to be true, and we’re naive to think that it will be any different in our day, or in our land. Our government and the U.N.’s clear stated goals of wanting to ban guns entirely, with the help of the media, have been playing on the emotions of the American people. TheNewtown tragedy has been reported by most news stations to have been carried out with an assault rifle. Other newscast early on reported that two handguns, possibly four were used with the assault rifle found in the trunk. A live aerial photo of the officers unloading  the rifle found in the trunk was a shotgun. So why are there all the conflicting reports? Because there is an agenda. I too am a parent with kids and grandkids in school but as appealing as getting rid of guns might sound to some, it would only be dealing with a symptom rather than the problem. Since Cain slew Able we’ve had this problem and we will continue to have it until it’s remedied, because it’s a condition of the heart. If a person has it in their heart to murder someone they’ll use what ever means necessary .
In 1781, Thomas Jefferson made this statement in Query XV11 of his notes on the state of Virginia. Excerpts of these statements are engraved on the Jefferson Memorial in Washington D.C. He said that, “God who gave us life gave us liberty, and can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever”. Why then has this conviction been removed from our minds and our children’s minds? Because it is no longer taught. Why? Because the U.S. Supreme Court has misinterpreted Jefferson’s statement regarding the separation of church and state and since that time our kids have been learning the “laws of the jungle” rather than the “laws of God”.
Idea’s have consequences. We have the not so distant past to learn from. Hitler was a man who was swayed by Darwin’s evolutionary views. At first his desire was to eliminate all the mentally ill and handicapped children because he viewed them as defective and unnecessary, therefore unwanted. Then it spread to the drunkards, the homosexuals and the elderly that were considered as he termed them, “useless eaters”. Then he eventually decided to get rid of the Jews because they too were viewed as      “sub human”. We might easily dismiss all this as that was there, it will never happen here, but I believe we’re already heading down that slippery slope. Since the Roe vs Wade decision in 1973 we have aborted 54 million babies here in America because these babies in the womb, a place that should be even safer than the schoolyard, have been labeled as a “non-person” by the U.S. Supreme Court despite the fact that these unborn children have separate DNA, and are 50 % of the time of a different sex. The Nazi Supreme Court used the “non-person” term for Jews as well. Just recently it has been suggested by one prominent doctor here in America that we should terminate all pre-born handicapped children. When we first heard of them aborting children from Jewish mothers for experimentation we were horrified. Now it’s common practice all across our land because it’s a right and a choice. So much for that “non person’s” right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. Obamacare has also included a panel of selected, not elected people to determine the fate of individuals with health problems. In Nazi Germany this same kind of board progressed into what was called the “Death Panel”. Then it was the gas chambers that were created for mass murdering and the ovens where they cremated about 8000 people a day. There had to be a lot of people involved in this to accomplish such a thing so it wasn’t just the one man but many who had bought a lie and just followed orders. At the heart of all genocide is the fallacy of racial superiority or in some cases just plain superiority.
So what does all this have to do with the 2nd Amendment? Progression. Nazi Germany did not just happen over night. It happened in steps but once the people were disarmed for their own good, it escalated. This is where Thomas Jefferson’s remarks about “the strongest reason for the people to retain their right to keep and bear arms is a last resort to protect themselves against tyranny of government”, comes into play. It’s never been about “just hunting” but the protection of a free people from an abusive government. Is there still such a threat of government becoming abusive today? Absolutely! But again as Jefferson said, “When the government fears the people, there is liberty but when the people fear the government, there is tyranny”. Taking away citizens firearms would be like plucking a guard dogs teeth. Guns may have changed since our founder’s days but the nature of man remains the same. Our founders understood the nature of man from a biblical perspective and that’s why they gave us the form of government that our nation was built upon. These 3 branches of government, the judicial, the legislative and the administrative are right from Isaiah 33:22. They were wise men, wise enough to know that man, unlike God, is corruptible so they intended that no one man should have complete control but have checks and balances throughout the various branches of government to help protect us from tyranny. Our Constitution is a big part of that process. Unfortunately this too has been forgotten or ignored by many of our politicians even though they swear an oath to uphold it. Our Constitution is daily being reinterpreted by corrupt politicians, crafty lawyers and un-savvy citizens to promote their own agenda. So where is it allheaded? Only by remembering the past can we even begin to have a clue of the future that is sure to come if we continue to ignore the warning signs. Therefore the 2nd amendment should be protected at all costs. What did our founders mean when they said, “shall not be infringed”? Does that mean until we get duped into believing otherwise? The best way to solve the problems in our schools and our nation is to invite God back into them and start doing things His way once again. In our modern day and age there is far more evidence than ever supporting intelligent design so why are we still teaching the fallacies and bad science of Darwinism? Because it’s the religion of the State and we prefer it because it allows us to live however we please. It’s doctrine is in all our school books and at all our state and national parks making disciples of all the nations, teaching them to obey all that it teaches them, that they came from nothing and are accountable to no one. So why are we so surprised when our culture commits such atrocities?
Have you ever cooked a frog in a pot? Probably not, but if you throw him in while the water is boiling, he’ll jump out. But if you put him in the pot and  turn the heat up slowly, you can cook him to death. Let’s not find ourselves a cooked frog in the pot. If we continue to reject the only sure foundation for what is true and right we’ll be sure to be just that, a cooked frog in the pot or worse.
