JIM REED ANNOUNCES
CAMPAIGN FOR STATE ASSEMBLY
North state Attorney JIM REED announced today that he will be a
candidate for State Assembly in California’s Third District, which includes
most of Butte County, Sutter, Yuba, Glenn and Tehama Counties and a small
part of Colusa County. The 3rd District is presently represented by DAN
LOGUE, whose term ends in 2014.
REED, a Democrat, was the Democratic nominee for Congress in 2012 in
the heavily Republican First District. He was widely lauded for running an
excellent campaign against long odds, garnering over 125,000 votes,
enough to win in most California Congressional Districts. The Third Assembly
District leans marginally Republican.
JIM REED believes the population of the State of California has
grown so large that its size makes it too difficult to govern. As an
Assemblyman he will advocate breaking California into two or more separate
States, not only to provide more efficient local government, but to give
Californians a greater voice in Washington. California with more than 20
times the population of North and South Dakota, has two Senators while the
Dakotas have four Senators.
