...MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE BY SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY...

.A SERIES OF PACIFIC STORMS WILL BRING WARM AND MOIST CONDITIONS
TO EASTERN CALIFORNIA AND FAR WESTERN NEVADA. PERIODS OF RAIN
THROUGH SATURDAY WILL INCREASE SOIL MOISTURE AHEAD OF A PERIOD OF
HEAVY RAIN WITH HIGH SNOW LEVELS SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
SUNDAY. SNOW LEVELS WILL RISE ABOVE 8000 FEET SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND
MAY RISE TO NEAR 10000 FEET SATURDAY NIGHT...BEFORE A COLD FRONT
PASSES THROUGH THE SIERRA AND WESTERN NEVADA SUNDAY. SNOW LEVELS
WILL FALL TO 6000 TO 7000 FEET BEHIND THE FRONT AND QUICKLY END
THE FLOOD THREAT.

AREAS AT GREATEST RISK FOR FLOODING ARE SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS
ALONG AND WEST OF HIGHWAY 395 FROM LASSEN COUNTY SOUTH THROUGH THE
RENO...TAHOE...CARSON CITY AREA AND INTO NORTHERN MONO COUNTY. MUD
AND ROCK SLIDES ARE POSSIBLE IN AREAS OF STEEP TERRAIN AND NEAR
RECENT WILDFIRE BURN AREAS.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RENO HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD WATCH FOR LASSEN...EASTERN PLUMAS...AND EASTERN SIERRA
  COUNTIES FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING.

* A PERIOD OF HEAVY RAIN WITH HIGH SNOW LEVELS WILL OCCUR SATURDAY
  AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING. THIS WILL INCREASE THE
  POTENTIAL FOR MINOR FLOODING NEAR CREEKS AND STREAMS...ALONG
  WITH ROCK AND MUD SLIDES NEAR STEEP TERRAIN.

* THE HIGHEST RISK FOR FLOODING IS NEAR SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS
  ACROSS AREAS WEST OF HIGHWAY 395 WHICH INCLUDES...WESTERN LASSEN
  COUNTY...AND THE EASTERN PORTIONS OF SIERRA AND PLUMAS COUNTIES.
  A SIGNIFICANT RISE WILL OCCUR ON THE SUSAN RIVER.

* RAINFALL AMOUNTS SATURDAY THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING OF 2 TO 4
  INCHES ARE POSSIBLE WITH ISOLATED AMOUNTS UP TO 6 INCHES.

* MUD AND DEBRIS FLOWS ARE POSSIBLE NEAR THE RUSH FIRE IN EASTERN
  LASSEN COUNTY. PONDING OF WATER ON ROADS MAY CAUSE DIFFICULT
  DRIVING CONDITIONS ALONG HIGHWAYS...36...44...AND 89.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

PERSONS LIVING ALONG SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS SHOULD MONITOR THE
LATEST WEATHER INFORMATION AT WEATHER.GOV/RENO AND BE PREPARED TO
TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING OCCUR.
