Success For Miss Jody 11/28/12

Miss Jody Community Thanksgiving Dinner was a big success once again and we have many people to thank for all the donations and contributions to the Western Sierra Food Bank.
The Downieville Lion’s Club, United Methodist Churches and the Assembly of God deserve high praise for jumping in to help and raise funds. Special thanks to Mike and Karen Galan for making the Stuffing, in the past made by our beloved Sheri Blackwell who we lost this year.  Sheryl and Bill Pangman, Lee Adams, JoAn Cochran, Miriam Dines, Clancy, Patrick Shannon, Ann and David Hutchison, Imke Schoebel, Paul and Linda, Rachel Guffin, Mary and Charles Ervin, Patrick Shannon, Jill Tahija, Doug and Suzanne Burr, Gary Grutkowski, Barbara and Brian Jamison, Tony Wright, Nancy & Mike Carnahan, Susan and Tom Hopkins, Humajoon Lodhi and Downieville Grocery, Larry and Kathy Breed and the Sierra City Country Store, Tom Schumann, Doris and Andy Carpenter and David O’Donnell who all deserve special recognition for their help at the dinner and contributions. We served approximately 160 meals including takeouts and in addition, guests were able to take more home. There were very many unsung heroes who cooked turkeys and brought them to the dinner, many donations were received and the Western Sierra Food Bank received over $1,300 from the event. We thank everyone for their donations and help. The WSFB needed help more than ever this year and you all stepped up. If you have not been named individually please forgive us, it seems like every year we leave someone who deserves special recognition out and you can chastise Liz Fisher for the oversight.
The very last dinner was served to Daniele Giachi from the Bay Area, he was visiting on he motor bike and arrived after the cleanup process and everything in town was closed. The Miss Jody Volunteers made sure Daniele had a Thanksgiving meal. (see Pic)

Daniele Giachi enjoys his Miss Jody dinner at the Downieville Community Hall. Daniele is Italian and works for Tesla Motors in the Bay area. Very nice guy.
