Just in – Surprise surprise surprise…. the 3 pm meeting with the Western Sierra Medical Clinic and the folks from Miner’s Clinic in Grass Valley has been canceled. There will be an item on the Board of Supervisor’s meeting in Downieville on June 3, please attend this meeting. We need to continue writing and calling our state and federal health overseers and the people who provide grants and public funding to the Clinic to let them know the situation. Meanwhile I found this on Miners Clinic in Grass Valley… $5 million for a new facility in Grass Valley…this article is in the Grass Valley Union newspaper

A growing Grass Valley health-care clinic plans to build a nearly $5 million facility in the Glenbrook Basin. “We’re just very excited about it,” said Scott McFarland, chief executive officer of Western Sierra Medical Clinic, which plans to build the clinic on Old Tunnel Road, just north of Brunswick Road, behind the Sutton Way Safeway store. “This new building will help us meet the demands of the community,” McFarland told The Union. I guess Miner’s is now going to be the Western Sierra Clinic while they close the doors of the facility established and developed to provide health care to western Sierra County. Mr McFarland has some explaining to do…
