Emergency Medical Response (EMR) / First Responder Course To Start
Downieville Fire Protection District and NorCal EMS will offer an EMR/First Responder Course starting April 5th. Emergency Medical Responder Course is the new name for what was previously known as First Responder Course. This course provides the necessary tools for the rescuer to help sustain life, reduce pain and minimize injury during out-of-hospital medical and traumatic emergencies working alongside higher-level personnel at the scene. Individuals can take the Course for their own purposes or with the intent to help our local Fire Departments in responding to local medical events. An EMT Course is planned in Downieville for the Fall. The Emergency Medical Responder Course consists of 60 Hours and will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-9PM through May 31st at the Downieville School, Room #5 and will be taught by Frank Lang, NP. Interested persons should contact Frank Lang at 530-289-3644 for further information or registration. You can also e-mail Frank at firstname.lastname@example.org. The course is free but a textbook is required, however, financial assistance is available. Please consider helping the community to meet the emergency care needs of our citizens.
