SIERRA COUNTY CASES WEEKENDING April 29, 2016

Levi Hyde-Beverage (33) Loyalton. Dog at large, fine $153.

Christopher Davis (36) Reno. Possession for sale of marijuana. To May 24 for sentencing.

Jonathan Kimpson (28) Loyalton. Possession of methamphetamine. Referred for proposition 36 drug diversion.

Vicki Johnson (50) Auburn Washington. Sentencing on felony driving under the influence as the result of too many prior convictions. Two years state prison, served in county jail by reason or AB 109.

Dharam Raj (52) Nevada City. Driving while his license was suspended, with a prior conviction for same and failure to appear. Five days jail, fine $2688, which was converted to 23 days in jail, plus $470 which was not convertible.

Kristie DeBerg (43) Loyalton. DeBerg pled guilty to two counts of residential burglary and admitted a special allegation that one of the burglaries was committed while she was out on bail on another felony. Sentencing is on May 11.

Brandon Smith (29) Reno. Smith pled guilty to felony vandalism and reckless driving, alcohol related. Sentencing is on May 27. He remains in custody on $50,000 bail.

Tomas Gonzales (19) Loyalton. After a contested preliminary hearing, Gonzales was ordered to stand trial on felony sex acts with a minor, petty theft, and committing acts which would cause a minor to break the law. He remains in custody on $50,000 bail.

Ramona Romero (20) Loyalton. After a contested preliminary hearing, Romero was ordered to stand trial on felony charges of concealing a child to deprive a custodial parent of custody. She remains in custody in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Vicki Johnson (50) El Dorado County. Guilty of felony driving under the influence with three or more prior convictions. Sentencing is April 11. She remains in custody on a no bail hold.

Orion Ehringer (43) Sacramento. Guilty of felony threatening a witness (a CPS worker). Sentencing is on March 22. He remains in custody on a no bail hold.

Michael Hayward (55) Carson City. Sentencing on felony grand theft (welfare fraud). Four years probation, 68 days jail, ordered to pay restitution to the County of Sierra in the amount of $2134 with 10% interest, and a fine of $1480.

Kristi DeBerg (43) Loyalton. After a contested preliminary hearing, DeBerg was ordered to stand trial on three counts of residential burglary. She remains in custody on a no bail hold.

Casey McFarland (42) Downieville. After a contested preliminary hearing, McFarland was ordered to stand trial on felony domestic violence charges, and violating a domestic violence stay away order. He remains in custody on $25,000 bail.

Kathryn Hunbra (59) Chilcoot. Possession of methamphetamine. Two years probation, fine $1070.

Jeffrey Kelley (49) Loyalton. Was sentenced for felony driving under the influence causing injury. Five years probation, 180 days in jail, fine $2762, ordered to pay restitution to the victim of $11,676.91, one year driver’s license suspension, and attend alcohol programs

Austin Tatum (20) Chester. Possession of unplugged shotgun (a shot gun that can hold more than 3 shells) while hunting. Fine $1090.

John Lucish (62) Challenge. No hunting license in possession. Fine $665.

David Money (33) Reno. Felony automobile theft. Sentencing is set for September 25. He remains in custody on a no bail hold

Zachary Norden (21) Portola. Sentencing for felony residential burglary. Four years probation, 120 days jail, fine $2420, and he was ordered to pay $2300 in restitution to the victim.

Timothy Diltz (52) Sierraville. Illegal burning of debris. One year probation, fine $685.

Brandon Lutes (45) Loyalton. Violation of probation on conviction of domestic violence for failure to report to probation. Thirty days jail, probation reinstated.

Robert Wharff (27) Goodyears Bar. Under the influence of a controlled substance. One year jail.

Adam Malik (36) Davis. Malik was placed on probation for assault on a peace officer and attempting to elude an officer when he rammed Sierra County Sheriff’s vehicle in July 2012. The violation of probation was his commission of a new offense where he stabbed a victim several times in West Sacramento while saying he was going to kill the victim. A jury acquitted Malik of attempted murder but convicted on Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Criminal Threats, and Causing Great Bodily injury. He received four years on the Sierra County Probation Violation, and five years, eight months on the new charges for a total prison commit of 9 years 8 months.

Denny Daneri (59) Goodyears Bar. Violation of probation for drinking alcohol in violation of his no alcohol order. Sixteen days jail.

Michael Neuman (41) Rocklin Disturbing the peace and failure to appear. One year probation, fine $1292.

Nathan Ashley (27) Loyalton. Possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Ordered to drug diversion rehab.

Roberta Andeway (42) Sierraville. Driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or greater. Three years probation, two days jail, fine $2427.

Lee Ann Pollastrini (42) Loyalton. Reckless driving, alcohol related. Three years probation, two days jail, fine $1599.

Rhonda Needles (40) Grass Valley. Possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). No probation, 180 days jail, fine $220.

Denny Daneri (59) Downieville. After pleading to Disturbing the peace, he was sentenced to three years probation, 34 days jail, and a fine of $685.

Joshua Smith (20) Loyalton. Reckless driving, bringing a sentence of one year probation, and a fine of $685.

Robert Hammett contributed $500 to the Sierra County Fish and Game Commission as a civil compromise involving stream pollution.

Brian Bunin (49) Reno. Unlawful discharge of an arrow in an unsafe manner. Fine $849.

David Hill (52) Alleghany. No valid driver’s license. Fine $385.

Russell Penn (37) Loyalton. Driving while his license was suspended and failure to appear. Three years probation, 8 days jail, and a fine of $2134.

Cory Grim (23) Fullerton. Grim was sentenced on a felony failure to appear. He recieved three years probation, 9 days jail, and a fine of $2395.

Paul Penn (38) Loyalton. Violation of probation for failure to report and use of controlled substances. He was on probation for felon in possession of firearm, and possession of controlled substance in jail. He was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison.

Steiner Knoefler (24) Downieville. Vandalism and drunk in public. One year probation, two days jail, fine $650, and $400 in restitution.

Jordan Wing (21) Loyalton. Wing waived her right to a preliminary hearing and was ordered to stand trial on felony grand theft charges.

Todd Rich (49) Pike. Dog at large and no dog license. Fine $178.

Jason Wardrobe (38) Loyalton. Leaving the scene of an accident. Two years probation, and a fine $1465. Restitution has been satisfied.

Michael Schmidt (20) San Diego. Reckless driving, alcohol related. Eighteen months probation, one day jail, fine $1519, and must complete DMV alcohol course.

Orion Ehringer (44) Orangevale. After a contested preliminary hearing, he was ordered to stand trial on charges of criminal threats and intimidating a witness.

April Williams (33) Transit. Violation of probation for failure to keep in touch with probation. She was on probation for possession of a controlled substance, and being under the influence of a controlled substance. Sentencing is June 9.

Cory Grim (26) Failure to appear on felony charge. Sentencing is June 26.

Eric Armstrong (23) Loyalton. After a contested violation of probation hearing, he was found to be in violation of his probation for spousal abuse by interfering with probation search of his property. Probation was revoked and not reinstated. He was sentenced to one year in jail minus credit for 240 days he had already served.
